What I have learned is this, hard work pays off. Someone once told me, "The harder I work, the luckier I get." There is a lot of truth in this. After 17 years in the music industry, I still put in the long hours. My boss says all the time, "We need to act like we are a new company that's just staring out." And that is the secret to our success.
When you start something new, like blogging for example, you start off with inspiration and passion. But that hardest ting to do in the world is to wake up every morning of your life and hit the ground running. Too many bad days... and the world will pass you by. There is A LOT OF COMPETITION in the music industry. We compete with everyone from the guy that just graduated from music school working out of his apartment bedroom, to John Williams, to everyone else in between. So what makes the company I work for so special? The answer is this, It's the employees and the vision of my boss.
I have decided to start this blog with the goal of sharing my experiences. I have had many over the last 17 years. I was 24 years old when it all started. I didn't know what an external hard drive was and that was the beginning. I was a trumpet player and all of my experience was from taking private lessons. What was I doing in a music production company? I was there, because it was my dream job.
There have been many successes and many failures. My intention is not for self promotion or the promotion of the music company I work for. I may from time to time mention a specific TV show or film of interest. But my main purpose for doing this is to give back to what has given me so much. I can not think of a better way than this.
Welcome to This Music Experience.
